Heather Johnston is the Executive Director of Projets Autochtones, a shelter, housing and community space for Indigenous peoples in urban Montreal experiencing homelessness. Heather has over 20 years of experience in delivering impactful programs in the areas of health and education, internationally, and with Indigenous organisations and communities. She has a diverse background in not-for-profit leadership, strategic planning, fundraising, program and grant management, Board governance, and volunteer coordination. Heather recently served as President and CEO of Dignitas International, a Toronto-based global health and research organisation. From 1999 to 2012 she worked in Mali, West Africa, managing a diverse portfolio of projects for international development organisations, including in reproductive health with Marie Stopes International.
