Stephanie de Young, RN, MSc is the Nursing Manager at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health where she leads the design, implementation and evaluation of paediatric nursing education programs implemented through strong collaborations between SickKids and academic institutions, health facilities and government partners in Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania and the Caribbean. Through experiences collaborating with nurses, patients and families both locally and globally, Stephanie has developed expertise in designing contextually relevant, learner-centred health professional education; preparing nurses to participate in global health projects; and building effective global nursing partnerships. Stephanie is passionate about working with partners to strengthen paediatric nursing education and develop enabling environments so that nursing’s contributions to the health system can be maximized. Stephanie is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto.
